The Sideline Project

The Sideline Project moves beyond giving parents a lollypop…

The Sideline Project - identifies three different types of communication, demonstrates how distracting communication inhibits player development, and gives coaches a step-by-step guideline to follow while implementing with their team. All L30 teams are committed to implementing the concepts of The Sideline Project. Watch the demonstration video to learn more. If you want to see the exactly how distracting communication can hamper players fast forward to min 13 of the video.

Does participation in The Sideline Project mean I can't communication at all from the sidelines?

Not at all. You ABSOLUTELY CAN provide supportive communication from the sidelines. The objective is to educate you about the 3 types of sideline communication & to eliminate distracting and hostile communication.

Why do we feel like this is important?

Distracting and hostile communication can hamper the development of players & cause stress for the player leading to lack of enjoyment and desire to play the sport. Our goal at L30 is to build & support athletes for life, at whatever level is appropriate for each player. We want our players to try new things, which means taking risks to develop their creativity. Developing players is a journey that needs your support to enjoy the ride, to learn resilience and to have success with perseverance. We believe if you invest in & properly develop players, the winning takes care of itself.

Our ultimate goal is that the skills & growth gained by being a part of an L30 team will serve the player well beyond the pitch - in school & life.

L30 & UYSA have partnered with Soccer Parenting Association to provide this & other FREE resources to our members.

L30 & Soccer Parenting Association

Education is the key to empowerment…

L30 has partnered with the Soccer Parenting Association in a joint mission to INSPIRE PLAYERS BY EMPOWERING PARENTS.

  • We believe a strong and supportive community of level-headed and like-minded parents and coaches will inspire players.

  • We believe a more collaborative environment between coach, parent, club and player is in the best interest of player development.

  • We believe when parents seek information about how to best support their player, great things will happen.

  • We believe youth soccer parents will be difference makers when it comes to improving the game.
